Patrick Z. Riley is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. A fourth generation Californian, Mr. Riley received his law degree from the University of California-Boalt Hall Law School in l970, and was admitted to the California Bar in January of 1971. He earned his undergraduate degree in History from the University of Santa Clara.
Since 1990 Mr. Riley has focused exclusively on estate planning, trust administration and probate issues. Specializing allows him to better provide the requisite insight and expertise in this complex and continually evolving area of the law. Mr. Riley focuses on aiding his clients and their advisors in understanding their estate planning options before guiding them to a decision. He is committed to his clients and proud of the close relationships he develops with them, remaining available to assist them in all stages of the creation and operation of their estate plans.
Equally dedicated to his profession, Mr. Riley is active in both the State and local Bar Associations, as well as the Southern Alameda Estate Planning Council, the East Bay Estate Planning Council and the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Committee of the California State Bar. He has often lectured on both the basics and the intricacies of estate planning and administration. Mr. Riley is also involved in the community as an active member of Oakland Rotary No. 3 and the Bay Zen Center.
