Ruth B. Isaacson is an associate in the firm's family law department.
Ruth graduated summa cum laude from The College of Wooster (Wooster, OH) in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. In 2009, Ruth graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall). During law school, Ruth served as an Articles Editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law and as a Student Director of the Workers' Rights Clinic. Ruth also gained significant experience with family law during law school, completing a judicial externship with the Honorable Marjorie A. Slabach at the San Francisco Unified Family Court, serving as a research assistant for a Boalt Hall family law professor, and spending her second-year summer as a family law clerk at Sucherman•Insalaco. Ruth's article, "Teachable Moments": The Use of Child-Centered Arguments in the Same-Sex Marriage Debate, was published in the February 2010 issue of California Law Review.
Prior to joining LPS, Ruth worked as a family law associate at the firm of Winter & Ross. Her most recent position was Executive Director/Supervising Attorney at the General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP), a public benefits clinic in the Civic Center district. She now serves on GAAP's Board of Directors and is Chair of its fundraising committee.
