James M. Allen is a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law and in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration (certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization in both specialties). He concentrates in the areas of corporations, partnerships and business, tax, real estate, estate planning, and trust administration.
Jim is a 1964 graduate of Stanford University and a 1971 graduate of Hastings College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Thurston Society. Jim also received his master's degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. Jim has lectured and written for the California Continuing Education of the Bar, as well as other law-related organizations in the areas of tax, probate, and estate planning.
Jim served on the Executive Committee, Trusts and Estates Law Section of the State Bar of California and is currently Chair of the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco. He is a Vietnam-era war veteran who was a lieutenant in the United States Navy.
