Martha L. Daetwyler has an extensive estate planning and probate practice which includes the preparation of wills and inter vivos trusts, including tax-oriented and generation-skipping trusts. In addition, she advises clients regarding the use and implementation of various specialized estate planning tools such as Insurance Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, and Family Limited Partnerships. Her practice also includes expertise in charitable giving through the use of charitable bequests, charitable remainder trusts, private foundations, and trusts for conservation purposes. Martha represents executors in probate administration proceedings and has expertise in the preparation of federal estate tax returns.
Martha graduated from Duke University and earned her J.D. at the University of Virginia Law School. She has practiced in the areas of civil litigation and equipment lease financing, serving as in-house counsel to Wells Fargo Leasing and Comdisco, Inc. Martha is past President of the Board of Oberlin Dance Company and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Rose Resnick/Light House for the Blind. She also serves on the Board of the San Francisco Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Martha was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.
Martha is a member of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section of the State Bar of California, and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the American Bar Association.
