Jessica’s practice is devoted to assisting individuals, families, and children in a variety of modalities, including mediation, negotiated settlement, litigation, parent coordination, and representing children as minor’s counsel.
Her practice includes negotiating and preparing pre-and post-marital agreements, negotiating & preparing child custody and parenting plans, establishment and modification of child and spousal support orders, and representing clients in legal separation/dissolution matters, parentage cases, civil/domestic violence restraining orders, legal guardianship, adoption, and high conflict child custody matters in San Francisco, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties.
As a mother, step-mother, co-parent, single mom by choice, and member of the LGBTQIA community, Jessica is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families in all of their extraordinary permutations.
Jessica graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology focused on Child Development. Prior to attending law school, Jessica worked as an investigator for the Texas Department of Child Protective Services and volunteered as a child advocate with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Jessica graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2002.
Jessica is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar Association of San Francisco, the Marin County Bar Association, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the National Association of Counsel for Children. After years of training and mentorship, Jessica represented parents and children as part of the San Francisco Bar Association’s Dependency Representation Program. Jessica was the Co-Chair and then Chair of the San Francisco Bar Association’s Barristers Family Law Section and continues to volunteer as minor’s counsel and for the San Francisco Superior Court’s Attorney for the Day and Self-Represented Litigants programs. Most recently, with the Supreme Court’s overruling Roe v Wade, Jessica has joined the Legal Alliance for Reproductive Rights as a volunteer attorney assisting pregnant women and abortion providers facing civil suits and criminal charges related to seeking or providing reproductive care.
