Steven H. Bovarnick is head of the firm’s litigation department, with an emphasis on commercial, real estate and family disputes.
Growing up in Seattle, Steve attended University of Washington where he majored in Business Administration – Finance. After graduation, Steve attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco where he developed an interest in real estate and business law. Between 1984 and 2008, Steve was a partner in Hunter and Bovarnick, a San Francisco law firm which provided a full range of legal services to individuals and businesses. After his partner’s retirement in 2008, Steve joined the firm. Steve has extensive experience in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies and tribunals. In addition to his work as a litigator, Steve advises clients in real estate matters, business development, employment matters, commercial disputes, licensing, business formation, and corporate governance.
Steve is a member of the California State Bar Section in Trusts and Estates, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and the Alameda County Bar Association. In the community, Steve served on the Board of Directors for Oakland Hebrew Day School for seven years and recently joined the Board of the Katherine Michiels School. Steve has also provided advice to the Bar Association of San Francisco for the Homeless Advocacy Project and the ADA Compliance Program.
