David H. Melnick is currently retired from LPS and his practice of counseling businesses, executives, and professionals, and estate planning and administration.
David is a 1959 graduate of the University of Rochester, where he was Phi Beta Kappa, and a 1964 graduate of the University of California, Boalt Hall, where he was editor-in-chief of the California Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif honor society. From 1964 to 1965 he clerked for the Honorable Matthew O. Tobriner, Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court. From 1966 to 1970 he worked for a moderate-sized San Francisco law firm engaging in both litigation and business counseling. In 1970 David formed a partnership with Mr. Matzger, in which David’s practice included a wide variety of commercial matters.
David has served in leadership positions in the community including as past President of the board of Trustees of the San Francisco Jewish Community Center and as a chairman of the board of Directors of Mt Zion Hospital, where he acted as the chief board negotiator for the Mt Zion UCSF merger. He continues to be affiliated with Mount Zion Health Fund.
